Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards 2018
This year, Sherpani proudly teamed up with Glamour Magazine’s 28th annual Women of the Year Awards in the pursuit of recognizing women who are constantly pushing boundaries and defining their own meanings of success. Honorees included dynamic and forward-looking women like Betty Reid Soskin, Kamala Harris, Manal al-Sharif and many others.
These incredible women have at one point, demonstrated remarkable resolve, overcome significant obstacles, and pushed the boundaries to which they were once confined, to become catalysts for change and shape the world we now live in today.
96 year old national parks conservationist and ranger, Betty Soskin, is a symbol of what we at Sherpani strive to represent: a strong commitment to your beliefs.
Awardee Kamala Harris has fought to protect our environment, and to establish women’s place in society as powerful leaders. She has also been an outspoken advocate for our environment and natural resources—causes that are dear to us at Sherpani.
In advocating for—and securing—a woman’s right to drive in Saudi Arabia, Manal Al-Sharif’s persistent questioning of the status quo is reflected in our perpetual need to explore, and to make progress.
These are just some of the stories we heard at this outstanding event—stories that not only move us, but act as a reminder to Sherpani and to all women; that, by advocating for one another, there is no limit to what strong, confident, and compassionate women can accomplish together.
